Performance Policy
​
Here at Gokulam we stress on the importance of persistent practice (at least one hour a week apart from class), years of learning, acquiring the required skillset, developing sound knowledge (attending workshops, lec-dems, other performances and external events) and above all enjoying an art form in all its glory before thrusting students on the stage. We hope as students/parents you will gladly share these sentiments and accept our ideology to wait for the most opportune moment for talent showcase.

Class Policies
​
Kindly understand that a teacher's time and commitment are also equally important. We highly appreciate NOT requesting leave of absence for playdates/birthday parties/get-togethers etc. We expect all students to attend classes regularly and maintain punctuality. In case of extenuating circumstances only, with advance notice, we are happy to oblige and make arrangements for make-up lessons.

Parents/family/friends often walking-in on classes can be a major distraction. We request you to set up your system, with reliable audio (external microphone and headphones OR air-pods), video (built-in camera) and internet (wifi hotspot) capabilities in a quiet/solitude place of your home for the entire duration of a lesson.

PLEASE DO NOT use electronic devices such as phones/tablets during class to check lyrics/notations. We highly recommend that ALL students take prints of all the files way ahead of class and neatly arrange them in a binder for future use as well.

Fee Payment
​
We request ALL students to pay fees on the 1st day of every month. We highly encourage students to also pay upfront the fees for an entire semester. Workshop/lec-dem fees are customized one-time payments which are required before the start of that specific event.

Fee Policies
​
Carnatic Vocal : you may start any month and payment is due at the beginning of that month.
Workshops : payment is required at the beginning of the workshop for the entire duration (no refunds).
Lec-dems : some are offered free of cost to our students alone. For others: same policy as Workshops.
