“Gokulam Arts Family Inc” is a nonprofit organization founded by Vasupradha Raghav and Raghav Kumar for the performing arts.

MISSION
To promote performing arts including but not limited to Indian Classical Music, Drama and Classical dance.

VISION
To nurture young and old minds alike to embrace the philosophies of the "Bhakti Movement" (started by Indian poet-saints during 6th century CE to propagate the concept of deep devotion, an inclusive path to spirituality) through the pursuit of performing arts, promotion of Indian culture and heritage and by way of giving back to the society at large.

VALUES
India, "Janmabhoomi”, has birthed not only many venerated Gods but also spiritualistic pioneers and genius composers such as Saint Thyagaraja (Thiruvaiyaru, Tamil Nadu) and Sant Meerabai (Marwar, Rajasthan). Gathering from both their life histories, we come to the realization that the underlying objective in life is to achieve salvation by wholeheartedly and selflessly meditating on “Dhwani” (sound, voice, melody).
All of us at "Gokulam" aim and will strive continuously to create an environment of constant learning, persistent collaboration and benevolent giving.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
In Sep 2012, by the graces of Sri KAnchi MahAperiyavA (TamilnAdu, India) & Lord BAlAji (presiding deity of the Hindu temple of the Woodlands (HTW)), Vasupradha started teaching Carnatic Music to just two students at her apartment whom she had met at HTW. In the following years, "Gokulam" grew to accommodate more than two dozen students aged five through fifty.
In 2013, during the nascent years of HTW, Vasupradha had the good fortune of organizing, with a team of friends, the first "Thyagaraja Aradhana", a Carnatic music festival, at HTW. From 2013 to 2019, she continued to organize, with different sets of volunteer-groups, more fundraiser musical events featuring her students and other music and dance enthusiasts from the community for her preferred charitable organizations namely HTW and Cancer Institute (Adyar, Chennai). In 2021, she decided to take a short break from music to raise her family promising to return soon.

In November 2022 Gokulam Arts Family Inc was established as a nonprofit organization with the state of Texas and in March 2024 we formally became a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
