At what age can my child start at Gokulam ?

We start accepting students from the age of 4 for Hymns classes and from the age of 6 or 7 for other classes depending on the student's interest level. We highly encourage parents to lay the foundation at home from a very young age by encouraging children to regularly listen to/watch concerts and recitals online and/or attend performances in-person.

When can I/my child perform?

Please read our student handbook. Also, once you/your child reaches Intermediate/Advanced training levels, there will be plenty of opportunities to perform.

As for Hymns chanting, we highly encourage all our students to regularly participate in mass-chanting sessions organized all over Texas/other US states.

Can I/my child learn only songs? 

​

When starting to learn an art form we DO NOT teach only songs. We follow a holistic curriculum and make sure to teach the fundamental lessons, theory and history as well of that particular art form and in case of Hymns ("Slokams") the meanings and backstory as well.

 

Can I attend your workshops/lec-dems as an outsider?

 

We organize these especially for the students of Gokulam to facilitate overall development as performers . However, please feel free to fill out our student application form (select only workshops/lec-dems) and we will surely revert with positive news.
